How Mocktail Party came to be

After publishing our bestselling mocktail book, Drinking for Two: Nutritious Mocktails for the Mom-to-Be, we noticed a growing demand for a version that would appeal to all audiences, not just pregnant women. So, we created this collection of original, plant-based mocktail recipes perfect for everyone.

Mocktails with a healthy twist

What makes Mocktail Party unique? Written by two health professionals, this book offers drinks that are both delicious AND nutritious. Mocktails and their alcoholic counterparts can be juice-heavy and are often loaded with sugar or syrups. In contrast, our recipes are low in added sugar and instead rely on all-natural ingredients to add flavor and sweetness. Made with everyday ingredients that you can find at your local food store, these stress-free drinks can be whipped up in just a matter of minutes! Mocktail Party also features valuable information about the benefits of an alcohol-free lifestyle, tips for sustainable mixology, and advice for ordering mocktails at a restaurant or bar.

Unique elements of Mocktail Party

Mocktail Party opens with a chapter dedicated to the latest research regarding alcohol and health. It also touches upon the science regarding certain elements of mocktails, including added sugars, sugar subsidies, and juice. We aren’t expert mixologists, and we don’t expect you to be either! For this reason, we also discuss the tools and techniques of making a mocktail. We help you get your kitchen set up so that you can make any of our drinks whenever the mood strikes. We review the kitchen appliances, tools, and glassware you’ll need and teach you a few bartending techniques.

Lastly, we also provide you with a list of essential ingredients to have on hand, so when the urge to make a mocktail hits, you'll be ready! We avoided creating recipes with obscure, hard-to-find ingredients. Plus, you can use many of the ingredients for multiple recipes. You’ll find that our mocktails are easier to prepare than you might think—most of our recipes only take a few minutes to throw together using ingredients, methods, and tools that are widely available.

In the book, you’ll find different sections and drinks like:

  • Classic drinks like the Pal-no-ma and Aperol-less Spritz,
  • Drinks with a Twist like the Watermelon Mock-jito,
  • Brunch favorites like the Pickled Mary & Kiwi No-secco,
  • Dessert treats like the Salted Caramel & Tiramisu Mock-tinis,
  • Frozen coolers like the No Way Frose & Blueberry Acai Daiquiri, and
  • Seasonal beverages like a Pumpkin Spice Latte and Holiday Spritz.
